Straits Times article for LA

I think that Ms Oh is very reseliant. Her disability has made her a target for cruel jokes and taunts yet she perserveres throughout and she tries her very best at every thing. She has cerebral palsy, yet she managed to scale Mount Kinabalu and that is a feat for a normal person and even more so for a person with ceberal palsy like Ms Oh.
She even managed to write a inspirating book-"Scaling Walls"based on her experiances and what she learnt from her life. Together with a group of motely but loyal friends who got ten thousand dollars to start up Siew May and friends and publish the heartwarming book.
She has also overcame many obsticles to make it to this very day including her mentally impaired sister, and frail mother. She does not complain about it, but works hard daily to support them.
She said: 'If you think you are useless, you are useless'. I think this is very true as perception is the key to a lot of things. If you keep thinking "I cannot make it", you will not make it. This is the power of the mind and how a negative mindset can cause problems. A positive mindset will allow you to surpass a person with the same IQ and EQ but has a negative mindset.
She also said:"Being disabled doesn't mean unable". This is very true and she herself is a living example of that.
Her book tell you all about these in a greater detail. It can be borrowed at th Jurong regional Liabrary
